# Concrete repairs

Any concrete element of a building can deteriorate and suffer from spalling, or concrete cancer: floor slabs, stairs, balconies, walls, columns, beams and pathways.

Spalling, often called concrete cancer, is caused by corrosion of the steel reinforcement inside the concrete. Treating it early can greatly reduce costly structural damage to your building.

Before any concrete repairs start, OneVision prepares a comprehensive report. It sets out the extent of the damage, the costs involved, and any further structural damage or implications that may follow.

## How we remove concrete cancer

1. **Concrete cutting**
2. **Hydro demolition**: High-pressure water removes the concrete and cleans the steel at the same time.
3. **Concrete reinstatement**: Exposed steel is cleaned and treated, then the concrete is reinstated to the manufacturer's instructions.
4. **Protective surface coating**: A protective coating slows corrosion and reduces further carbonation or chloride contamination.
5. **Grit blasting**
