What it is
Glass is one of the most attractive parts of a building, and one of the most easily damaged or scratched.
Scratches can happen through mishandling in the factory, in transport to site or during installation. They also happen during cleaning, when contractors use blades or when abrasive material such as concrete or cement render is left on the glass from construction. Vandalism causes them too.
Replacing glass can be extremely expensive, and most companies want to avoid it. Restoring the glass, by removing scratches as soon as they appear, can keep costs down.
Glass facades that aren't maintained regularly also build up dirt, grime, calcium and water stains over time.
